Chana dal / Moong dal Payasam with Sago
Ingredients
for
pressure cooking:
1 tsp ghee
½ cup chana
dal
½ cup moong
dal
2 cup water
for
payasam:
¼ cup sago,
soaked 30 minutes
1 cup water
½ cup
jaggery
Pinch of
saffron (optional)
1 cup
coconut milk, thick
for
roasting:
1 tbsp ghee
10 cashew /
Almonds / Rasins as per your choice
Instructions
In a pressure cooker take ghee, moong dal and chana dal. make
sure to rinse the dal well. Roast until it turns aromatic. Add 2 cup water and
mix well &pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles or until dal is softened. In a
large kadai take sabudana and water. till it softens completely. Then add in
pressure cooked dal mix well. Further, add jaggery and mix well until jaggery
is cooked well. Keeping the flame on low add coconut milk and mix well
until everything is well combined. In another pan heat ghee and roast dry
fruits until the nuts turn golden brown. Transfer the nuts to payasam and mix
well. Enjoy payasam with more dry fruits.
