PACHOLE
Ingredients:
Corn kernels 3 cups
Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger-garlic-green chilli paste 1 teaspoon
Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup
Corn flour/ corn starch 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Oil for greasing
Method:
Coarsely grind
corn kernels and put into a bowl.
Add garam masala
powder, ginger-green chilli-garlic paste, gram flour, corn flour and salt.
Heat sufficient
water in a steamer.
Grease a plate
with oil, put the corn mixture on it and spread evenly.
Steam for fifteen
to twenty minutes or till done.
Cool and cut into
squares. These are called pacholes. (You can shallow fry it in round shapes as
well the way I did it)
Heat oil in a
non-stick tawa.
Place the pacholes on it and shallow-fry, turning sides, until golden brown from both the sides. Serve hot.
