Brown Bread Steamed Cake



Ingredients


Brown Bread crumbs - 3 cup
All purpose flour - 1 cup
Brown or Normal sugar or Jaggery (melted)- 1 cup
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Baking powder - 2 tsp
Milk - 2 cup (If using jaggery adjust accordingly)
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp :
Ghee / Butter - 3 tbsp :
Condensed milk - 3 tbsp:
Almond or Cashew - a handful



Method



Blend the brown bread into coarse crumbs. In a mixing bowl add all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and mix all the dry ingredients together.
Now mix all wet ingredients milk, (melted jaggery if you are using) vanilla essence, ghee or melted butter and condensed milk. Cake batter is ready.
Grease the cake tin with ghee and dust it with all-purpose flour/maida. Heat the steamer. Once the steam comes, pour the cake batter into the tin and place it on the steamer. Garnish it with almond/ Cashew slice. Steam cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour on low flame. Turn off the stove and rest inside the steamer for 1 hour.
Enjoy the cake with your hot tea.
