Chole Masala
Ingredients
6 green chilies chopped
2 tablespoons lemon juice (optional)
2 tablespoons oil
4 medium cloves garlic chopped
1 medium piece ginger chopped6 green chilies chopped

1-teaspoon cumin seed
2 large onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons coriander powder
2-teaspoons red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 1/2 teaspoons garam masala
1-cup tomatoes finely chopped
500 gms boiled chickpeas
Coriander leaves chopped
Method
Grind garlic,
ginger, chilies, lemon juice, and salt to a fine paste and keep aside.
Heat oil in a
large pan & add cumin. Once they splutter, add onion & Cook
stirring frequently until onions turns brown. Immediately add
garlic/ginger/chili paste all at once and stir to combine. Add coriander, turmeric, red chill and garam masala. Stir until about 30 seconds. Add tomatoes,
crush them well, cook for about two minutes and add the boiled chickpeas and little
of coriander leaves, reserving a little for garnish. Add 1/2 cup water.
Bring to a simmer&
Cook, stirring occasionally, until liquid has reduced into a thick gravy.
Stir in remaining
garam masala and lemon juice & salt as per taste and garnish it with
coriander leaves. Serve with rice or puri.
